Renaud Beaufort (born May 28, 1994) is a Meta-Human from Earth-0, he's the second cousin of those other people who are related to the Beauforts through their mother. He didn't take to well to the death of his mother, and blames his younger sister for it.

Personality

Renaud is an obsessive man, being quick to latch onto people and things that he views as belonging to him. Conversely, if something threatens (or he views as threatening) something that he's obsessed with, there is little Renaud will not do to "protect" it. Alongside this, Renaud possesses a lack of self-awareness that often leads to him refusing to take responsibility for his own actions and typically leaves him incapable of seeing the flaws in his own views.

Summary

Renaud is the oldest child of Bertrand and Margot Beaufort.

When Renaud was younger, his mother died protecting his younger sister from some unknown incident. Due to his attachment to his mother, Renaud took this very poorly, and blamed his sister for the event. The two lost contact with each other due to this.

In 2017, Renaud approached Sabine again, telling her of his plan to sacrifice her to fufill a covenant with a being that spoke to him through his dreams. When Sabine refused, he tried to force the matter, chasing her around France, sending her dreams telepathically the whole time.

Renaud eventually caught up with his sister, finding her at a hotel alongside two other people, and attempted to kidnap her. This attempt was stalled, however, by Orion's protection, causing Renaud to call upon his new benefactor to increase his power multiple times.

Despite being on the back foot for the fight, Renaud managed to run away with Sabine in his possession - with Orion in hot pursuit behind him.

Tired of the chase, Renaud attempted to convince his pursuers by taking them all into The Tree's portion of the Astral Plane, but was shocked to discover that the others did not see the utopia that he saw when there. After some crazed ramblings, Renaud was put to sleep by Madeleine.

A dream version of Renaud, likely without his personality issues, appeared in Orion's ideal dream world.

Powers & Abilities

• Carbon Manipulation:
  • Renaud's Meta-Human ability is the ability to manipulate carbon psionically.
• Psionics (briefly):
  • As part of his covenant with The Tree, Renaud was granted a portion of its power, which manifested in the form of new psionic abilities for him. These abilities included:
    • Superhuman Physical Characteristics
      • Renaud was capable of enhancing his physical characteristics psionically, allowing him to perform superhuman feats of strength, although this was not to the same level as an expert such as Orion.
    • Psychokinesis
      • Renaud was capable of using Psychokinesis to lift objects, as well as tear them apart.
    • Telepathy
      • Renaud was capable of sending telepathic messages to others, such as the dreams that he plagued Sabine with.
    • Dimensional Travel
      • Renaud was capable of transporting himself, and others, into the Astral Plane at will.

• Renaud is French.
• Margot and Bertrand are the couple who took in Valérie Beaufort after the death of her parents on Earth-2. Why Valérie has no mentioned siblings, however, is left up to interpretation.
• Renaud is Bisexual
