Aurora was a Meta-Human singer from Earth-0.
Personality
Summary
Aurora was a world-famous singer, whose fame extended from America to Japan, her works include the opening for the anime Uirusukorekutā koppureboryūshonzu[1]. At some point in her career, she was shot through the neck by an anti-Meta-Human terrorist, an incident that removed her ability to speak - and sing[2]. At some point during her recovery, Aurora was approached by The Ub Iwerks Corporation to perform at their resort, Dreamville[1]. Aurora accepted the position at the park, and decided to remain the dream until her death, leaving her body to wither in reality as she spent a total of six consecutive months within the dreamscape. Despite the death of her physical body, however, Aurora's consciousness remained within the dream, where she continued her role as usual[2].
At some point during her tenure, the resort hired a new head of security, after which point, guests with psionic abilities started to disappear under mysterious circumstances. Becoming suspicious of this, Aurora attempted to report it to the correct authorities, but found her inquiries were ignored[1], and as such she decided to use other methods to uncover the truth[3].
While Orion and Madeleine were visiting Dreamville, Aurora was actively seeking potential allies through the use of a park mascot called Dreamsie, through which she could gain a measure of the strength of individuals. After evaluating the pair, Aurora approached Orion, asking him for aid in resolving the case of the missing psions. Once she had his agreement, the idol suddenly teleported him to where her ally was, with little warning[1].
After Orion and Martha escaped from the head of security, Martha apologised for her companion's suddeness, among other things.
Aurora was later summoned to the Cameland security office by Martha to help break through into the central security office, a task she was suited for due to her attunement with the dream. The act of breaking through took a lot out of her, however, and Aurora was forced to leave to rest[3].
When Columbia's power was unleashed, Aurora was the only person not dragged into a dream of her own, and set about liberating others from their dreams. Taking the form of a bird, Aurora entered Orion's dream and attempted to gain his attention several times: once by knocking on his window, and another time by harassing his mother and sister, with each attempt ending with her being shooed away. With these failed attempts, Aurora decided to take a different approach, and created a dream being named Garthrongulator to distract Orion while she got close to him. After Garthrongulator's defeat, Aurora was able to reach Orion and telepathically shared her memories of being shot, breaking him out of his dream.
With Orion free, Aurora briefly explained the situation in the park, and helped Orion find Madeleine's dream, and stood aside while Orion attempted to break her out of the dream, making the occasional helpful comment along the way.
After Madeleine's liberation, Aurora elaborated more on the nature of Columbia, including how the dreams were being used to fuel the newly formed god's power, allowing the group to come up with a plan to defeat both her and her creator, and was assigned to helping people escape from their dreams.
When Orion was under attack from Columbia, Aurora sensed this, and rushed to help him. Checking whether he was able to finish the fight, Aurora took Orion's place in the attack and gave him extra energy to give him a second wind, sacrificing herself so Orion could win. In the aftermath of the battle, Aurora faded away, expressing that she was glad she got one final attempt to sing before she finally died.
As a final gift to Orion, Aurora somehow placed a physical version of a photo taken in his dream into Orion's pocket, alongside an encouraging message and autograph.
Aurora's soul was taken to a mysterious garden, where it took the form of a dove, the owner of the realm commented that there had been discussion among her contemporaries on where her soul would end up, and informed her that she could rest now - with the caveat that, if she wanted, there was a free role to help with maintaining various dreams[2].
