Madeleine Cox (born August 15, 1993) is a Meta-Human telepath from Earth-0, she works for equality for everyone.
Summary
Madeleine is the daughter of a famous psychologist, and has a PhD in psychology herself. She is also a qualified therapist.
Born a Telepath, Madeleine is unable to prevent herself from passively reading the minds of others, with her natural telepathy even being powerful enough to break through some defences passively.
Blink is one of her oldest friends.[1] Another old friend visited her after the attack on The Wedge, proposing a wager between the two. To facilitate the bet, Madeleine had Blink put together a team, and break into St Jude's. When Blink returned to Madeleine with Cynthia, Madeleine greeted the pair.[2]
Some time later, after Blink was caught by a vigilante, Madeleine threatened the vigilante with an antique Elephant gun. When he revealed himself as her online friend Orion, the pair had an amicable discussion about a variety of topics.[1]
After Blink, Valeria, and Cynthia broke into a facility in the Dakota badlands, Madeleine was called in to decide what should be done with a mysterious coffin that the group had found. Detecting a psionic presence within the coffin, Madeleine called in Orion, who released the person within. Taking the person to Orion's friend, Madeleine did not take kindly to his insistence of her sharing her story with him, and nearly had a catastrophic meltdown when she found out that he had copied her memories, only managing to calm down thanks to Orion. Afterwards, Madeleine accepted Stephanie's confirmation that the memories had been removed, and unwound from the incident[3].
During a date with Orion, the couple found themselves interrupted by an old friend of Madeleine's, who foisted a job to help a French Meta-Human onto her before she could object. Heading to a village in Southern France, Madeleine and Orion met with the Meta-Human, learning that her brother was attempting to kill her and was apparently sending her dreams. Deciding to verify the dreams, Madeleine entered Sabine's mind, being dragged out during Orion's fight with Renaud. All of the people involved in the incident were dragged into the Astral Plane by Renaud, who brought them before the being that was manipulating him. After Orion killed the creature, him and Madeleine shared a romantic moment in the plane before returning to reality, where Orion spoke to Sabine - making Madeleine very proud of him.
While in the Astral Plane, Madeleine heard a mysterious noise that momentarily distracted her.[4]
Having spent a considerable amount of time with sporadic contact with Orion, Madeleine consulted Blink on potentially romantic activities the two could do together, eventually landing on a trip to Dreamville. Contacting Orion telepathically, Madeleine arranged a trip with him, giving both some time to prepare. When the pair arrived at the resort, Madeleine was eager to spend as much time as possible relaxing, and the pair spent their time enjoying the various attractions despite some minor disagreements over some details. Leaving Orion to get some food[5], Madeleine returned to find him gone, and as such attempted to use the proper methods to find him by contacting the park's security department, earning herself a private meeting with park's head of security.
Not entirely trusting the head of security, Madeleine played along with the man's story of Orion and followed him to his office, attempting to break into the man's mind the entire time - a task she eventually succeeded at. Getting a good read of the man's memories, Madeleine was quick to dismiss them as insane, and contacted Orion, albeit not in time for them to prevent the awakening on Columbia, and as such both were placed into dreams constructed by the entity's power.[6]
Madeleine's idealised world created by Columbia involved a version of reality where her parents had remained united and loving since childhood, with them dedicating their love to each other. Her version of the dream was considerably harder to break than Orion's, with Madeleine attempting to retreat into it several times.
Once freed, Madeleine helped Martha and Aurora with breaking other individuals out of their respective dreams, and as such was present when Aurora left to help Orion in his fight against Lincoln Washington Delaware and Columbia. During the debrief afterwards, Madeleine was present when Orion declared his intent to kill his father due him being too dangerous to be left alive.[7]
When Theia brought forward information on the MRD's nascent super-soldier program, Madeleine was part of the group put together to decide how to handle the situation. Preferring to take a more hands-off approach, Madeleine was overvoted by the other two, and agreed to a stealth mission to sabotage the project, deciding not to involve Orion so as to help him maintain his public reputation. Madeleine was not directly a member of the team sent to the MRD, but helped remotely through her telepathy, meaning that she was not present when Anomaly arrived, only getting a first-hand account of what happened from Theia after she was teleported back to Madeleine's home.[8]

- Telepathy:
- Madeleine is able to read and manipulate the minds of others at an impressive scale, and does so passively, much to her own chagrin. She also possesses strong psionic defences, and is capable of developing these defences in others if she wishes, making her able to defend herself from most individuals who seeks to overpower her mind.
- Psychology Training:
- Madeleine is a trained psychologist, having followed her father into the field. Despite little renown to her own name when compared to her father, Madeleine is still a qualified and capable psychologist and is a licensed therapist.
