Shades

Formed from the darkness found within the hearts of Man, Shades are a type of creature found on Earth-71. They are led by the mysterious King of Darkness, who seeks to overturn the order of the world for his own aims.

Summary

Drivers were created as a way of defending humanity from the Shades.

With the reappearance of the Red Driver, the Shades began to seek the device out, with one in particular accosting Hiyuki on her way from the junkyard to Hoyokazi Industries. This Shade later attempted to take the Driver from Hiyuki in her shop, ending up being trapped within the Driver Computer.

Another Shade, Pagliaccio, attacked Monument Plaza, and was defeated by the combined might of Driver Red and Driver Blue, although not before it activated its giant form.

Noting how the appearance of new Drivers may interfere with his plans, the King of Darkness dispatched Driver Shadow to handle the new heroes.

A third Shade, Legione, attacked Metro City Central Hospital, attempting to take out Driver Black before he was chosen, but was driven back by him.

Powers & Abilities

Shades are varied in their abilities and appearances by virtue of their creation as a mixture of different emotions, but all Shades have a core set of powers, which include:

Notes

• Shades are incredibly varied in their appearances, but prefer to stick closer to human forms, this ultimately ends up making the look somewhat like actors in suits.
