The Sanctuary City Sentinels is the primary professional baseball team for Sanctuary City, it was previously known as the Sanctuary City Metas, but had to change its name due to controversial associations between the name and Meta-Humans, as well as similarities between the name and that of the New York Mets. The team was founded in 1980.
