Jonah Grayson (Earth-0)

Jonah Isaiah Grayson is a Meta-Human | Para-Human hybrid - and the triplet sibling of both Aiden Grayson and Phoebe Grayson. He is also the son of Silas Grayson. Jonah currently lives in Haven City. He is also the Meta-Human vigilante known as Scalar.

Summary

Prior History

Jonah has a history similar to that of his triplet siblings - with the only difference being his path of education. Unlike both Aiden and Phoebe, who took professional degrees in medicine and law respectively - Jonah chose academia after their move to the West Coast. As Jonah demonstrated a greater degree of hyper-intelligence before his siblings, he was enrolled in advanced classes at an earlier age - leading him to pursue higher education much earlier as well. Jonah excelled at all of his courses to a degree that baffled even his most skilled of teachers - leading him to graduate from secondary school and fast track himself to graduate school in his early teens. By the time he reached his early 20s, Jonah had obtained various PhDs in numerous subjects, including: mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, applied biochemistry, literature, history and various other subjects. As such, Jonah became the most knowledgable of the triplets very quickly, utilizing his skills to aid his brother and sister as they continued down their career paths as well.

During his brief stint in secondary school - Jonah befriended a girl named Elisabet Cardigan, and was incredibly kind to her as her classmate. Although Jonah was expressing what he felt was proper conduct standard cordial behavior at first, he then quickly began to develop feelings for Elisabet. Unfortunately for him, he wasn't in the same core curriculum as her for most classes, though he did end up spending time with her outside of classes.

Scalar

Eventually, Jonah would be recruited by Sanctuary City's local government to aid in a physics research joint venture with the New Science Initiative. The experiment involved the generation, detection and direct observation of chronons - a hypothetical subatomic particle serving as the carrier of entropic time. The goal of the project was to ascertain whether chronons existed, and whether micro-fluctations in space-time could be mapped and predicted to potentially "see" through time. Unfortunately, the experiment went awry, with the particle accelerator malfunctioning - causing a distortion in space-time to appear. A bright golden bolt of energy then struck Jonah - knocking him unconscious.

After he awoke, Jonah learned that he had developed the ability to move at unfathomable speeds. Recognizing the familiar nature of Jonah's new abilities, Phoebe called her close friend Lisa Dawkins to investigate. According to Lisa, the experiment had turned Jonah into a Para-Human with similar abilities to her. Jonah had become a Speedster with a connection to what Lisa dubbed the "Speed Force". Soon afterwards, Jonah then began training with Lisa to hone his new abilities. Then after creating a costume based on Mosaic's nanite suit, he became the vigilante known as Scalar.

As Scalar, Jonah has helped Aiden and Phoebe in their investigation of Chiral's old laboratories hidden around the United States, and even encountered old cloning test subjects, such as Champion - whom he swiftly defeated.

He also aided Mosaic and Hyperia in their takedown of Chiral - before the latter was transferred to The Wedge.

Current Activities

Jonah is currently operating as the Chief Financial Officer of Archeon Incorporated - while working out of the Haven City branch of the company. He also continues to help people as Scalar, while continuing to search up more information about the whereabouts of specific dangerous individuals - in the hopes of stopping them before they can enact more of their nefarious plans.

Structure Matrix

As the Incarnation of the Structure IsoMatrix - Jonah has the innate ability to sense conceptual patterns and make logical inferences from those patterns. He is also capable of parallel processing - allowing his brain to perform various cognitive operations at any given time, dramatically increasing his cognitive abilities. Jonah also has a near instant and perfect intuition for any and all systems, mechanisms and structures - no matter how abstract they are.

Jonah is also capable of making highly complex simulations of various situations, based on available data for modeling and processing. Because of this, he is very skilled at predicting outcomes depending on their probability of likelihood. In addition, Jonah record visual, auditory and even sensory stimuli in his brain for an extended period of time - capable of recalling the sensations and interactions of an event at will in his mind, with remarkable accuracy.

Mosaic DNA

Much like his siblings and his father, Jonah is capable of sequencing and re-sequencing his DNA without any tangible limit. Although not autonomic like his brother Aiden's variant of Mosaic DNA, Jonah's version allows for more modularity of alterations - regularly creating different "variants" of any given Meta-Gene sequence.

Perceptive Mimicry

The result of Jonah's Structure Matrix working in synergy with his Mosaic DNA. Jonah has the ability to mimic the Meta-Gene sequences of any Meta-Human, whose ability he can visually observe and understand. The mimicry requires direct line of sight with the phenomena, and the phenomena must be visual in nature to mimic - thereby limiting the degree to which Jonah's Mosaic DNA can mimic Meta-Human abilities. However, in return, Jonah's Mosaic DNA allows for modification of the abilities themselves - granting far more granularity of focus and general alteration not found with Aiden or Phoebe's variants.

After the accident with the science experiment - Jonah became a Speedster - a being connected to the Speed Force. The Speed Force an extra-dimensional continuum that represents the idea of speed and motion - continually pushing against the fabric of reality, and causing it to expand rapidly.

  • He once impressed her by immediately remembering her full name after it was recited to him - without error.
  • Jonah is entirely unaware of the fact that Elisabet is madly in love with him, a situation that leads his sister Phoebe to comment on how dense he can be at times.
• Jonah's favorite food is spaghetti with marinara sauce and meatballs.
• Jonah loves reading, as it's his favorite hobby.
  • He's read more books than are available in most public libraries.
    • As such, his father Silas constructed a personal study for him, filled with large shelves of books for him to constantly read at home.
• Jonah is incredibly polite under all circumstances, to the point of surprising people.
  • He rarely ever gets mad under most circumstances - having a much more positive outlook in life compared to most, even his own family.
• Jonah's vernacular is a point of contention with his friends and family, as he appears "needlessly verbose" with regards to his standard dialect.
• Prior to his Speedster transformation, Jonah was the most out-of-shape of the triplets, though not by much.

  • Jonah had a slight crush on Lisa when he first met her, though it quickly faded.
• Jonah has an amicable opinion of Orion, viewing him more as a clumsy worker, but a genuinely well-meaning person.
• Jonah's middle name, Isaiah, comes from his great-grandfather, Isaiah Grayson.
  • Isaiah Grayson was a literary poet in the 20th century, as well as an advocate for the fair treatment of people across cultures.
  • Jonah's penchant for reading is supposedly similar to that of Isaiah's as well.
• Jonah is a TV enthusiast, and is very familiar with most modern television programs that aired in the late 20th century, as well as those currently airing in the 21st century.
• Jonah once solved a puzzle using custom decryption cipher he created on the spot, just for that situation.
