The Crimson Tide is a highly organized criminal society and organized crime group made up primarily of Meta-Humans based out of Sanctuary City.
Summary
Emerging from the ashes of the crime war between what remained of the original Crimson Tide after its bloody war with Charles "Rat King" Ratti by an unknown man from the Vitale Family who would later take the moniker of Pandion. Having come out of its gang war with Ratti victorious, the Crimson Tide established itself as the largest criminal organization within Sanctuary City, with a territory covering a large portion of the city, including claiming ownership over the entire network of The Hollows - although in practical terms, this grip is tenous at best, with many groups in the undercity acting independently of the organization.
In the years since its founding, the Crimson Tide has managed to avoid any major reprisal from law enforcement, both from the police and MRD, and has entrenched itself into many of the city's functions, preferring to reap the benefits of long term corruption and other low level activities over large, high-profile jobs.
Under orders from someone that was either high up in the organization, or someone with significant connections within it, Salvatore "The Dragon" Drago attacked a late night interview of Bella Blake, earning her ire and causing her to declare a private crusade against the organization as Apex.[1] Salvatore would later be the first lieutenant of the organization that Apex would strike.[2]
As Apex's crusade continued, the Crimson Tide brought more and more focus on its operations in The Hollows, using the underground passages more and more in regular operations, eventually bringing it into conflict with both Jo Endicott's Anarchs and the Ghoul Tunnelers, leading to one of Pandion's lieutenants being assigned to ensure operations went smoothly. During the Anarch attempt to sink Futures Tower, the Crimson Tide kidnapped Anarchs member Ayla Aarons, leading into a brief conflict with Omnius, during which they attempted to distract the vigilante by bringing him into the path of the ghoul horde.[3]
