Eirwen Prydwen was a mage and member of the Prydwen Family. The mother of Ceridwen and wife of Medwyn, she was the previous guardian of the Rift of Merddyn.
Summary
Not long after the birth of her daughter, Eirwen called a Conclave of Mages at Castle Prydwen, where she reassured those who attended that the Rift was still under her control[1].
Some time after this, Eirwen was killed by her daughter as part of a ritual[2].
Aiden's mocking of her mother was enough to trigger Ceridwen, causing her to act differently than she typically does during her duel with Aiden[3].
Powers & Abilities
- Magic:
- As a former guardian of the Rift of Merddyn, Eirwen was presumably a powerful mage.
- Eirwen was a half-Demon, granting her a large reservoir of power to draw from, as well as providing her the ability to change her form to specific animals that reflect her own nature.
- Caledfwch:
- Eirwen was the previous holder of the Holy Sword Caledfwch, also known as Excalibur.
- Carnwennan:
- Eirwen was the previous holder of Carnwennan, the dagger of King Arthur.
Notes
- Medwyn misses Eirwen greatly.
