Summary
Sue Mary was born in Yorktown, Virginia, all of her family were in the military, and as such she was expected to do so too. Enlisting at the age of 18, Sue joined the U.S. Army Special Forces, qualifying with excellent results with the help of her power. This made her a prime target for H.O.M.E.L.A.N.D. to recruit to their Special Operations Group.
Sue serves as one of Anomaly's Four Horsemen, taking the seat of Conquest, Sue is given free reign to do what she wishes, and is very rarely involved in MHA operations across the globe. There is debate over whether her or Death is the most powerful member of the Horsemen.
Conquest was deployed alongside the other Horsemen (excluding Famine) to help lead the attack on Sanctuary City as part of the MHA's larger attack on the MRD as a whole. As part of this, Death directed her to distract Omnius, a task she performed by fighting him and killing civilians. When the general order for withdrawal was called, Conquest retreated alongside the rest of the MHA, promising that she would continue the fight with Omnius later.[1]
Powers & Abilities
- Inability to Lose: Sue possesses the Meta-Human ability to always win, no matter what. This includes both individual and one-on-one contests, battles, votes, wagers, etc where she is a member of one of the teams or armies. In contests of skills, this ability can give her the skills or talents required to win, or may manipulate probability to ensure a win in cases of luck. If faced with odds that her ability cannot force a victory from, her ability compells her to switch to the winning side to ensure that she still wins.
- Limited Tychokinesis: If in a contest of chance, Sue's Meta-Human ability will attempt to manipulate the odds into her favour.
- Immunity to Power Negation: Unless being affected would cause her to win, Sue possesses immunity to standard forms of power negation, such as MRD power dampeners.
- Mortar Physiology: After defecting to the MHA, Sue was granted a multitude of powers so she could serve as Conquest through the same process used to make the organisation's Mortar soldiers. Due to her power, she did not experience the typical transformation associated with this process, making her the first stable Mortar. Powers granted to her as part of this process include:
- Ferrokinesis
- Resurrection: As with all of the Horsemen, Sue is immortal so long as Anomaly exists, and will return from any form of death so long as it is inflicted by a being that is not capable of overriding Anomaly's authority.
- Pestilence Inducement: Sue is capable of inducing disease (including non-infectious diseases such as cancer) within people at will.
Notes
- Sue's character details contain many details to victorys:
- Sue's birthtown, Yorktown is the location the final major battle of the American Revolutionary War.
- Sue's birthdate, May 8th, is Victory in Europe Day.
- Sue's middle name, Charlotte, is a reference to one of the first female Olympic medalists.
- Sue Mary's name is a play on Mary Sue, a term for a character, typically a young woman, who is free of weaknesses and character flaws.
