Usage

The "Established" date indicates the origin of the franchise or club, which may predate its major league status. Historical affiliations with predecessor leagues may be included when they are part of the franchise's recognized history. Postseasons before 1903 are not included, as they were generally regarded as exhibitions.

The infobox may be added by pasting the template as shown below into an article, typically at the top of an article above the lead section.
