'Sophia Pallas Kokkinos (Born March 16, 1948) is a British Mage from Earth-0 and the adoptive mother of Anna Kokkinos.
Summary
Sophia is the current head of the Kokkinos Family, having inherited the position after the death of her father. Sophia had an older sister, but she left the family when Sophia was a teenager due to a lack of magical ability and disagreements with the family.
An ambitious woman, Sophia attended the Conclave of Mages in 2001 in an attempt to curry favor with other mage houses and obtain their secrets. At some point after the Conclave, but before 2009, Sophia learned of Karl Fischer and his plans for Circe and Orion. Viewing The Collective as inspired in their attempts to utilize both Psionics and Magic, but flawed in their aims, Sophia set out to create her own version of the psionic children project, eventually finding out about Project: M and their Northern Cross project.
In 2009, after a significant amount of time collecting information on Project: M, Sophia attacked one of their facilities, destroying it and rescuing the test subject with the most potential within it - NC-1703-13. Adopting the test subject as her daughter and naming her Anna, Sophia designated the young Meta-Human as her heir and started training her in the mystical arts.
Despite her motives, Sophia and Anna had a somewhat loving relationship, with Sophia growing to view Anna as her daughter genuinely.
In September 2017, Sophia received an epiphany of unknown origin, viewing it as almost divine, Sophia changed her goal from raising Anna as her successor to using her to transcend beyond reality. Growing obssessive and isolating herself from the world, Sophia attempted to sacrifice Anna in a ritual, an event which led to her daughter slipping out of her grasp. Desperate to achieve her goal, Sophia began hunting her daughter down.
