The '''Prydwen Family''' is a [[wikipedia:Celtic Britons|Brythonic]] family that traces its lineage back to [[Merlin]]. Being entirely formed of [[Magicians]], the family has a proud [[Magic]] tradition, as well as an ancient duty to guard the [[Rift of Merddyn]], with each family head inheriting the role of the [[Guardian (Rift of Merddyn)|Guardian]].

== Summary ==
The Prydwen Family was founded either one or two generations after Merlin, being created as part of a covenant to protect the rest of the world from [[Hyde Family Religion|that which lives on the other side of the Rift of Merddynn]]. At some point, they maintained close relations with the [[Hyde Family|Hydes]], with modern Prydwens being descended from a very distant relative of [[Aaron Hyde|the]] [[Allison Hyde|modern]] [[Amy Hyde|Hydes]].

There are very few members of the Prydwen family left in the modern era, with the only confirmed blood members being [[Ceridwen Prydwen (Earth-0)|Ceridwen Prydwen]] and her uncle, [[Rhion Prydwen]].

The previous head of the Prydwen Family before Ceridwen was her mother, [[Eirwen Prydwen]]<ref name="Conc">The Conclave</ref>, who Ceridwen killed and succeeded when she eventually succumbed to her [[Demons#Half-Demons|Demonic heritage]]<ref>Signs and Portents</ref>.

The Prydwens have often held [[Conclave (Magicians)|Conclaves]], with both Eirwen and Ceridwen holding them during their tenures as Guardians<ref name="Conc"/>.
