Spending nearly a decade working on the project in the ~~90s, Mathias was rarely ever home~~ to ~~care for Marc - leaving only his mother and extended family to raise him. As his mother was a stay at home caretaker, the family wasn~~'t able to provide much for Marc in the way of toys or gifts as he was growing up. Instead, Marc would take objects in the backyard and piece them together, attempting to create his own toys, and learning to foster a sense of curiosity over concepts such as composition and structure.		After an experiment, he gained the ability to transform into '''Nucleon''' - a Quantum Energy being capable of extraordinary feats.

	Eventually, Marc got a part time job as a lab assistant when he was in high school - overseeing the creation of a small particle detection system, as part of a grant funded initiative. Marc performed so well in the position, that he was given a part-time job after graduating high school, assisting the laboratory. Angry at his son'~~s unwillingness to continue in his footsteps as a construction worker, Mathias eventually attempted to let out his frustrations on Marc - causing Marc~~'~~s powers to manifest in a fit of anger. Marc~~'s powers manifested in that moment, the generation of high intensity flames and radiation. Nearly killing his father in that moment, Marc panicked and ran away from home - not looking back to see his father'~~s condition, and only hearing his screams of anger and pain.~~

	Marc would later leave for college at Sanctuary City University later that year, on a scholarship for his outstanding academic performance in mathematics and physics. Eventually, he graduated and began his accelerated PhD program. After finishing by age 21, Marc eventually began working for a private company called DataDrive - an analytical and research company based in Sanctuary City.

	Eventually, he transferred to the New Science Initiative to further his research. Marc was convinced that the added funding with the public research initiative would increase his chances of developing breakthroughs.
