Not [https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheUndead undead] but [[:en:Life|alive]], a vampire is a human being who has been transformed by vampirism. Whether considered a blessing, a curse, or simply a viral infection, vampirism exhibits some apparent supernatural qualities.

Despite there being differing groups, and sometimes even unique individuals, all vampires share the same basic qualities. Such as their superhuman physical abilities, or mainly, the need to drink blood for their primary method of sustenance. Although things such as food can be used to supplement this for a time, or simply as something to enjoy on the side, all vampires require blood regularly, being able to go roughly two to three days without feeding, before starvation begins. Most however, tend to feed daily.

== Origin ==
The origin of vampires is unknown, with there being many different theories of it's origins. Some say modern vampires are the descendants of an original, undead predecessor, having several of it's own variety of theories on these supposed ancestors and how they differ from the modern vampire. Others believe vampirism to be some sort of blessing or curse from one or more deities, or maybe the result of some sort of ancient [[magic]]. Regardless, vampirism has no solid agreed upon origin, with it only being universally agreed that vampirism itself is very old, and that vampires used to differ somehow in the past.

Born in New York City, Aiden is the son of Dr. Silas Grayson - a researcher and entrepreneur, and the founder of Archeon Incorporated - one of the largest technology corporations on the planet. Originally believed to have experienced a normal birth, Aiden is in fact a genetically engineered human. Created as the result of research taken from his grandfather - [[Dr. Amadeus Grayson]].

Created by his father Silas in the mid 90s, alongside his triplet siblings - [[Phoebe Grayson (Earth-0)|Phoebe]] and [[Jonah Grayson (Earth-0)|Jonah]]; Aiden lived a relatively normal life, experiencing an upbringing common amongst wealthy families. He had a good relationship with his triplet siblings, as well as his older siblings - [[Kira]] and [[Jason]] (who were naturally born by comparison).

Aiden was forced to move to the West Coast with his family after an attack in NYC by [[Providence]], the Meta-Human radical, and his [[organization]]. He would then spend the next decade of his life improving his own skills and knowledge base - before pursuing a degree in medicine.

== Description ==
The Sorcerers Supreme are a group of Magicians, each residing in their own [[The Sanctums|Sanctum]]. Each is tasked primarily with the protection of their Sanctum's [[The Crystals|Crystal]], as well as the protection of their home reality.

In order to allow them to take on such monumental tasks, each Sorcerer Supreme is taught by a [[The Gods|God]]. It is the duty of their teacher to instruct them in the ways of Magic, as well as their duties towards the Crystal. Unbeknownst to the Gods however, once a Sorcerer Supreme has finished their training with their master, the Crystals themselves reveal to them the apparent truth of [[Magic]], granting them even more knowledge and power than even the Gods could conceive of.

So long as a Sorcerer does not act in a way that threatens one of the Crystals, they're free to do as they wish with their abilities.

== Origins ==
Around a millennium ago, the Gods of [[wikipedia:Earth|Earth]] came together to form a pact with the mysterious Crystals. In return for helping train a protector for the Crystals, the Crystals would ensure the Gods' continued existence by ensuring their protection as well. This, however was a lie on the Crystal's part.

Soon after this pact was made, the Crystals were each tasked with choosing a suitable protector. Whether this relationship is long term [[wikipedia:Symbiosis|symbiosis]], or short term [[wikipedia:Parasitism|parasitism]] depends on the individual Mutanoid.

With time, a Mutanoid of these generations may eventually gain the strength themselves to no longer require a host. Although it's not uncommon for Mutanoids to remain with their host despite no longer needing them.

== Diet ==
As mentioned earlier, a Mutanoid can attach itself to a host and feed off their body. However this isn't always possible. In cases where a Mutanoid is lacking a host (or simply of a lower generation), they may consume organic matter to satiate themselves. For fourth generation and higher Mutanoids, this tends to be less effective than utilizing a host, and only enables them to survive a few extra days without one.

== Abilities ==
As mentioned earlier, the average Mutanoid is capable of altering their DNA, and automatically adapting to threats over time. They are also capable of altering the DNA of hosts, or other organisms they come into contact with if they wish. This grants them a great deal of freedom in what they can do, and a level of unpredictability as their ability to manipulate DNA is so great they can even grant themselves the abilities of [[Meta-Humans]], if properly exposed first.

Most unusually, Mutanoids seem to be capable of long distance communication with each other. The means of this communication is unknown, however it seems that this method of communication is mainly used as a link to the Mutanoid Hive.

=== Weaknesses ===
Despite their powerful abilities, Mutanoids aren't invincible. Firstly, they require sustenance like any other organism. Second, they're physically vulnerable to anything that can destroy organic matter, such as highly acidic liquids or extreme heat and cold. Physical trauma through blunt force can also harm them, if it's of sufficient power. Although they tend to be more resistant to this than most other things.

Although Mutanoids can change and adapt, their ability to adapt takes time, and is significantly slower if a Mutanoid is of a higher generation. Their ability to alter their DNA is limited as well, with more complex alterations requiring exposure and/or time before a Mutanoid may take advantage of it. If something were to cause significant damage to a Mutanoid faster than it could adapt, it would die like any other organism.

Finally, the Mutanoids most unique weakness is perhaps their susceptibility to their own hosts. Although they can exert considerable control over their hosts if desired, their hosts are capable of the same amount of influence on them if they have sufficient [[wikipedia:Will_(philosophy)|willpower]].

== Behavior and Cognition ==
Being equivalent to Humans in intellectual and emotional capacity, each Mutanoid could be considered their own [[wikipedia:Person|person]], rather than a mere animal. And like Humans, individual Mutanoids exhibit their own personalities, preferences and beliefs, influencing how they interact with others.

=== The Mutanoid Hive ===
Similar to insects such as ants, Mutanoids exhibit a degree of Eusociality, typically within members of the higher generations. Although this hive is much more loosely organized than what you would find in the insect world, it is still a hive nonetheless.

Seemingly accessible from any location within an unknown range, most Mutanoids make use of this hive as an information network, rather than working together for it's benefit. This connection to the hive allows the spread of information, as well as a method of contact between individuals. Hosts may also access this hive, if allowed by their paired Mutanoid.
